I mainly specialise in children from newborn up to the age of young adults. If you’d like more of a family-based photo session that’s no problem at all – I can easily include Mum, Dad, Grandparents etc into the shoot. Other commissions such as christenings, birthday parties etc are always considered – please get in touch with any requests you may have.

We try to tailor your session to your personal needs, whether it be a morning session for a fresh and rested newborn, or an evening shoot when your entire family is available, we work to devote ample time for each session and do our best to work around naps, feedings or work schedules. Your session can last anywhere from 1-2 hours, depending on location and the type of portraiture we are working towards. Morning and late afternoons/evenings are best for location shoots to avoid the mid-day sun.

Your session can either take place here at our studio or I can shoot in your home, at a favourite park, woods, beach or other outdoor area. I recommend a location where your children can easily and freely express themselves. If you choose to have an on-location shoot, typically morning and evening light are best as we try to avoid mid-day bright sun as much as possible.

What if it goes horribly wrong!?

Kids are kids and we may pick a time for a shoot that suits us but which just doesn’t suit the children! Normally we can work through this but sometimes, especially with very young children, it’s better to abandon the shoot and reschedule rather than try and persevere. On location shoots we are also at the mercy of the weather so a check on the weather forecast the day before will normally indicate if it’s worth setting out or not. In the majority of cases shoots will be rescheduled at no additional cost.

Viewing your pictures

Once your images have been processed I normally like to invite families back to the studio to view them and to discuss options for displaying them. Images will also be posted onto a website gallery which can be protected if necessary.
