OK, time for a spot of studio-based photography. Whilst in the Spring and Summer I nearly always suggest lifestyle shoots (especially when there are children involved), sometimes in the Winter months being outdoors with small children isn’t that appealing!
If the weather is cold and grey and the children are small, studio-based photography comes into its own as we’re not reliant on the weather and so can schedule a shoot in advance knowing that it will go ahead whatever the conditions.
The Oram family booked a session with me a few weeks before Christmas with a view to giving some photos to one of the grandparents as a birthday present. With a one year old, two years old and four year old it was tricky to get them all to co-operate and be in the right place at the right time but with a bit or gentle persuasion, a lot of patience and some subtle bribery we managed it.
The results look great – still lots of nice relaxed shots of children all showing their unique personalities and nearly all of them engrossed in something other than the camera!
