Thought I’d post some shots from a recent lifestyle shoot I did with the lovely Massingham family. It was a typical February day with overcast skies and a chilly wind but putting that to one side we all headed up to Felbrigg Hall for some fun family pictures. We had a great time with plenty of larking about (it always makes my job so much easier if families interact with each other) and here’s a few of my favourites.
Introduction to Photography – New Course Dates Announced
After I announced details of my first training course a month or so ago I had so many people wanting to attend that I had to set up a waiting list. As a result I’ve decided to re-run a second the course starting on the 5th Feb here at the studio in Tunstead. Sessions will be held each Tuesday evening between 7 and 8:30pm and will run for five weeks.
The content will be aimed squarely at beginners who may have only used auto-modes on their camera but who wish to take more control and to learn the fundamentals of digital photography.
The first few sessions will cover theory to ensure that students have a basic understanding of concepts such as exposure, ISO, white balance, aperture and shutter speeds but after this I’m hoping that the course content can be tailored to reflect the wishes of those attending. Whatever your interest I’m sure you will learn a lot and your photography will come on in leaps and bounds.
The only requirement is that you have a digital compact or SLR camera. Price for the 5 sessions is £50 and if you’d like to attend or just find out more please call me on 01603 737509.
A Pre-Christmas Children’s Portrait Shoot
We had the lovely Buxton family over to the studio just before Christmas for some portraits of the children. Charlotte is the cutest little thing ever and was more than happy to pose both with and without her cuddly cat. The boys Samuel and William however were far more intent on beating the living daylights out of each other with their light sabres (boys will be boys I guess!). Here’s a few favourites from the portrait session. For more info and to book a portrait session either in our studios in Tunstead or on location please see my Portrait Photography Norwich website.
A Short Walk in the Woods
What a wet few weeks we’ve been having recently on the lead up to Christmas. As a bit of an antidote I thought I’d share some pictures I shot in early Autumn when the golden colours were just starting to come through on the trees. It was a very relaxed family photoshoot in my favourite location, Bacton Woods, just outside Norwich and boys being boys, little Simon just couldn’t resist a good splash through some particularly muddy puddles (unfortunately it was at the start of the session so wet trousers were the order of the day for the rest of the shoot!). Enjoy the pictures and please feel free to leave any comments below. If you’d like to book a photo session with your family please get in touch either using the connect link on my blog or for more information please see my portraits website here .. Jack & Lily-Rose – Children’s Portraits in the Studio
Here we go with another fab set of children’s portraits shot in the studio just outside Norwich in Tunstead. Today is the turn of Jack & Lily-Rose. Jack is a very mature and confident young man who has a gorgeous little sister who absolutely adores her big brother (and didn’t need to be asked twice to sit on his back and ride him like a horsey!). This was a really easy shoot as the children were so easy to work with and we ended up with well over 100 pictures from the session. If you’d like to book a portrait session at the studio more information can be found on my website here … Norwich portrait photographer.
Amelia in the Sudio
Here’s a shoot we recently did with little Amelia who joined us in our studios in Tunstead for some lovely portrait photographs. Amelia soon settled in, lured by the attraction of some new toys and props to play with and made herself right at home (the sheepskin rug and dressing-up scarf went down particularly well!). If you’d like some beautiful and natural family or children’s portraits please visit my website for Norwich portrait photography.
Norwich Portrait Photography – A Short Promo Video
I thought I’d produce a short promo slideshow that features some of my favourite portrait shoots, both in the studio and on location over the past year or so. It’s a really nice way to combine images and these slideshows can easily be produced for clients if they’d like to share their pictures with a wider audience over the internet. If you book in for a portrait session, let me know if you’d like me to produce a video slideshow when your pictures have been processed. Enjoy!
An 80th Birthday Party
Over the Summer I was contacted by Sarah who wanted me to take some photographs of her extended family. It was her Father’s 80th birthday and to celebrate they were all coming up to stay just round the corner from the studio at Old Farm Cottages in Tunstead. They were a lovely family and I ended up staying far longer than I had originally intended as I was enjoy their company (and a bit of sunshine!). Here’s a quick taster of their pictures.
A Studio Shoot with Little Poppy
Here’s a recent shoot we did with little Poppy, a gorgeous baby girl who came along to the studio in Tunstead with Mum Emma for some photographs. Poppy was very well behaved and seemed pretty chilled out despite being in the unfamiliar surroundings of the studio. We shot a number of different styles and got to use some new portrait props such as the hammock and some great hand-mad hats. The pictures were given a variety of treatments in post production – some with a high key look and some with a vintage twist. Hope you enjoy them.
A Beautiful Summer Lifestyle Shoot at the Beach
I thought I’d share a really nice lifestlye shoot I did over the summer (which is now sadly only a distant memory as I look out over the frozen grass from the studio). Myself, Mum and the three kids (Grace, Rosie and William) all went down to Sea Palling beach late one afternoon to catch some nice soft light. It was a weekday and we had the place to ourselves. The dunes and the sea wall make for some great locations and some interesting lead-in lines. Here are some of my favourites.
