It’s been a while since I got round to blogging any images (blame weddings, commercial shoots & charity filming schedules of late!) but I really need to catch up on some great lifestyle shoots that I photographed in the lead up to Christmas last year.
Today’s post is from the back end of Autumn when most of the leaves had fallen from the trees but there was still colour in the background and the sunlight was nice and directional and a beautiful golden colour, especially as the afternoon turned into early evening. We headed off to one of my favourite locations in the woods where you’re pretty much guaranteed a flattering backdrop no matter how flat or grey the sky is. Dark background are great for skin tones, give a feeling of warmth and make subjects ‘pop’ out of the picture.
So without further ado here are some of my favourite images from that shoot
Contemplative pictures always seem so much nicer than cheesy grins!
We ended up our walk by a pond, perfect for small boys to keep themselves amused by chucking in stones and sticks – in most cases the bigger the better!
